Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my packer?

You can expect your packer to arrive in 6-8 weeks. Packers are customizable and handmade by our small team here at Bornwear. Packers are “restocked” every month, meaning the amount of packers that can be made within that month are now available for sale. There is no stock of standard packers. Packers are made to order, meaning they are made after your order is placed in order to fulfill customization requirements. It can take 1 - 4 weeks for your custom packer to be made. Once your packer is made, it will go through a 1 week long cleansing period before it is packaged to be shipped. Once your order has been packaged and shipped, you will receive an email with your package’s estimated time of arrival and tracking. Please allow 2-4 weeks for shipping and refer to info@bornwear.co for any questions.

When will packers be restocked?

Packers are restocked the second Friday of every month at noon PST. “Restock” does not mean there is a supply of packers ready for immediate sale, but rather the amount that can be made in a month since they are made to order. The amount for sale each month does sell out fast, typically 24 hours, so be prepared to order one on the day of restock.

How do i clean my packer?

Your packer should be washed with water and a mild soap after every use. They can be boiled to be sanitized if desired and can withstand up to 450F. Powdering is optional but recommended for softer texture and odor prevention. Talc free baby/body powders are recommended for best quality. If you happen to have a bacterial infection (like a yeast infection), avoid powdering with anything that contains starch since starch is a food for bacteria and will prolong the infection.

How do i wear my packer?

Underwear Packing: Tight underwear can hold a packer in place, but it's not recommended for everyone. While it’s a budget-friendly option, it may not be secure enough.

Recommended Methods: A variety of packing methods include harnesses, specialized underwear, straps/pouches, and TransTape. Each has its own benefits depending on comfort, occasion, and personal preference.

Underwear and Pouches: These keep the packer off the skin and are secure but may create a larger bulge and require multiple pairs.

Harnesses: They offer a closer fit and are good for active use but can cause discomfort and wear over time.

TransTape: This option allows for realistic movement and comfort without excessive pressure against the body. However, it’s a one-time use product and may require shaving for easier removal.

Skin Sensitivity: Personal experiences with skin sensitivity and adhesive reactions are noted, emphasizing that different methods may work better for different people.

How can I cancel my order?

Please send an email to info@bornwear.co if you need to cancel your order or have any questions about it. You will receive a full refund for your order as long as it has not yet shipped. If your packer has been made but not yet shipped, you will still receive a full refund.

Can I return my packer?

Due to the nature of these products, returns are not accepted. If you have a problem with your packer, please send an email to info@bornwear.co for assistance. Depending on the nature of the issue, you might be eligible for a refund, a discount on future products, or a replacement packer. This can cover missed quality control issues, skin tone matching issues within reason, or damage done in shipment. For issues with your choices in sizing or anything within your control, that is unfortunately not eligible for refunds or replacements. However, I still would be happy to work with you and find a resolution that feels best to you given the situation. So always please reach out if you have any concerns about your order.

my tracking information says my package is lost or delayed. What should I do?

Bornwear asks that you please wait at least 4 weeks from the date of shipment before contacting about a replacement. Although we try our best to use the most reliable postage services, delays can occur. After 8 weeks since your date of purchase, you can contact mac@bornwear.co about replacement options.

Who We Are

As a trans man, I understand how hard it is to find packers and harnesses that feel natural to you, without breaking the bank. I have spent hundreds of dollars on various brands with little luck. With my B.S. in mechanical engineering, I wanted to use my skills to help my community have functional and affordable options.

I also understand how challenging the world is becoming for the trans community. Some are losing access to gender-affirming medical care, making it crucial to have these accessible options. While there are numerous other brands, my mission is to bring quality products at affordable prices to the community.

As a mechanical engineer, my process is rooted in functionality and physics. A mechanically thought out design of each product ensures that it will function as intended, eliminating many issues with products from other brands. My goal is your peace of mind. You shouldn’t have to worry when using Bornwear products.

The Process

All of the models were sculpted by myself using computer-aided design software, 3D printed, sanded, and sealed with a protective coating. The model is used to create a platinum cured silicone mold. Platinum cured silicone is a body-safe, medical grade silicone.

The same silicone, of a different hardness level, is colored and put into a vacuum chamber to remove any bubbles. This is an essential step to ensure that the silicone is durable and body-safe. The silicone is then poured into the mold where it cures for a few hours.

Once cured, the silicone model is removed from the mold and cleaned with a solvent. Then it is powdered and ready to be shipped to you!
